Event Type: B; Regular Event, all seven courses

Cancellation Notice

The Park Supervisor has denied BAOC a special event permit. This leaves no choice but to cancel the event. I know that this is a great disappointment to many BAOC'ers who were looking forward to the challenges of Annadel.

Original Event Announcement

The BAOC will be offering a B-level meet at Annadel State Park in Santa Rosa on Saturday, May 15, 2004. All the courses except the beginners levels will be run on Annadel territory that has not been used for some time. We plan to offer the standard seven courses: White and Yellow for the beginners; Orange for the intermediates; and Brown, Green, Red and Blue for the advanced orienteers.

The beginners' courses will start and finish at Spring Lake near the registration area. The intermediate and advanced courses will have a remote start of 1.2 km at Annadel and away from the very limited parking available at Annadel (see below). Electronic punching will be used on the intermediate and advanced courses.

Registration will be at Spring Lake Park on the northeast side of the park (the exact picnic area to be announced later) and will open at 9:00. Start times will be available for all courses from 10:00 to 12:30. All courses will close at 2:30. Please return by 2:30 even if you have not completed your course. Beginners' clinics will be available from 9:30 until 10:30.

Since the parking at Annadel is limited and it costs $2.00 to park there, we will be offering a shuttle service running between Spring Lake and Annadel. Also, I would like to encourage participates to carpool from Spring Lake to Annadel.

Directions

Take 101 North to Highway 12 east. Follow Hwy 12 east along Farmers Lane. Turn Right onto Mission. Turn left onto Montgomery. Turn Right onto Channel drive. Entrance for Spring Lake is right off of Channel and signed.
