What Are The Rules For Orienteering?

The official rules for orienteering events in the U.S. are established by Orienteering USA (OUSA). The rules for all forms of orienteering in the U.S. can be found here (HTML) (http://orienteeringusa.org/rules). A PDF file containing the rules (as of January 2014) can be reached with this link (PDF/1MB) (http://orienteeringusa.org/sites/default/files/userfiles/u6/rules-2014-jan.pdf).

The rules for international events are established by the International Orienteering Federation (IOF). Their rules for the various forms of orienteering can be found here (http://orienteering.org/resources/rules/).
