Minutes of the BAOC Board Meeting held October 1, 2025
Present: Officers – Stephanie Maclean (President), Tapio Karras (Vice President), Scott Aster (Event Coordinator), John Richardson (Secretary), Gary Kraght (Treasurer); Board members – Dan Greene, Steve Haas, Jeff Lanam, Dennis Wildfogel, Sarah Williams; Visitors – Graham Brew, Nick Corsano, Misha Kreslavsky, Derek Maclean, Vicki Woolworth
The meeting was held via Zoom. It was called to order by the President at 7:33 PM.
President's Report
The President outlined the agenda and relayed an update on this year's mapping efforts.
Secretary's Report
The Secretary reported that the Board took two email votes since the previous Board Meeting. The Board approved a donation of $800 to the OUSA Youth Development Fund, and agreed to renew the Club's Condes and OCAD licenses.
Bylaws Committee
The President appointed John Richardson (Secretary) to chair a Bylaws Committee to propose updates to the Club's Bylaws. Stephanie Maclean (President) and Dan Greene (Quality Director) volunteered to serve on the Committee.
Event Coordinator's Report
The Event Coordinator presented the draft of next year's orienteering calendar. He made a call for volunteers to serve as Course Setters and Event Directors for next year's events, and highlighted the success of the mentorship program this year. Permitting remains a challenge, and the Event Coordination team will continue to support Event Directors in obtaining difficult permits.
The Board discussed options for Trail-O and regular NREs in 2026, and locations for the Summer Series.
The Club will have hosted 25 days of orienteering events in 2025, including the 2024 Golden Goat.
Other Business
The main topic of the next Board Meeting will be the 2026 budget. The meeting is tentatively scheduled for November 19th at 7:30 PM, and will be held on Zoom.
